A Woodey DIY kit weighs between 450 & 500kg depending on the options and accessories you have selected. A Woodey in a crate is 1200mm x 1200mm x 750mm high.
If your Woodey is to be freighted to you, we will pack it in a custom made MDF crate. This is not the cheapest way of packing your new Woodey, but we believe it is worth the extra expense and effort to give your Woodey the best chance of getting to you without transit damage.
The pine framing used to create the skeleton of the crate is all untreated and can be used as fuel for your curing fires. The MDF outer skin must not be burnt and should be disposed of in your general rubbish or a trip to the tip.
You will need a Cordless drill, a Philips head bit and Square drive bit to disassemble the crate.
There are four options for getting your Woodey from us to you.
1. Collect from our Brisbane factory.
2. South-East Queensland Local Delivery.
3. Home delivery by our freight contractor.
4. Organise your own freight contractor.
1. Collect from our Brisbane factory.
If you are local (or feel like coming for a drive) you are most welcome to come and collect your Woodey directly from us. You will need a ute or trailer capable of carrying 450kg.
Your Woodey will be packed on a pallet and we will load it for you using our forklift. Our pallets are 1200mm x 1200mm so check the width of your ute tray or trailer first.
We will also provide you with a few loose items – a box of insulation blanket, your selected façade and any accessories that you have purchased. These will need to be placed inside your vehicle or strapped into your Ute or trailer.
You will need at least four heavy duty ropes or straps to secure your Woodey for transit. A tarp is also a great idea as the components of your Woodey should be kept dry prior to assembly.
2. South-East Queensland Local Delivery
If you are in South-East Queensland and cannot come and collect your Woodey from us, we may be able to bring it to you. We don’t mind a nice scenic drive in the countryside and it gives us an excuse for a chat and to give you some advice before you get started.
3. Home delivery by our freight contractor.
We love family businesses and use them wherever possible, and our interstate deliveries are no different.
Roger, Emma & Bailey will collect your Woodey from us and transport it to your home. No middlemen, no swapping between carriers or offloading at depots along the way. Emma will call you enroute to advise when they expect to arrive.
Your Woodey will be unloaded using a tailgate lift and pallet jack and placed in your garage.
We may ask you for photos of your driveway and surrounding area prior to delivery to make sure it will all happen without a hitch, or an injury.
4. Organise your own freight contractor.
We understand that many of our customers have connections and accounts with freight providers, and we are very happy to work with your contractor.
We will pack your Woodey as we would for our own contractor and have it ready for collection from our Brisbane factory. In some situations, we have found that it is easier for us to deliver your Woodey to your freight contractor too (We have had the odd B-Double show up at our factory in the past and cause traffic chaos for our neighbours).
